Introduction

Irmãs Maryknoll de S. Domingos MM, invited by Diocese of Macau, launched Centro de Convívio do Centro Pastoral da Areia Preta (“Kei Hong Lok Yuen of Area Preta Catholic Pastoral Centre”) in 1982. Through social services and welfare participation, the Centre helped individuals and groups to develop. Since January 2009, the management of the Centre was transferred to Caritas de Macau. It mainly provides services like “Kei Hong Lok Yuen”, post-natal care services, and interests and hobbies development programs.

 

Objective

The Centre upholds Caritas - Macau’s service mission, promotes the spirit of Caritas and provides diversified social services for the elderly and the community in the north district. The Centre aims to strengthen the support to the elderly, develop community resources, encourage the elderly to participate actively in the community as well as to cultivate their sense of belonging to the community so as to build a healthy, active and caring community for the residents.

 

Service Content

       Post-Natal Care Service - With the help of a group of women, who are interested in post-natal care service and have experience in caring for infants, and having received intervention and coaching from other parties and experience-sharing from people with prior experience, they can help core families to relieve the anxiety and stress when they face a new born baby after receiving systemic training. They can help the families to go through ‘family crisis’.

       Interests and hobbies development programs – Provide interests and hobbies development programs to people in the community so that the participants can have an enjoyable time and learn new skills during their leisure time. This can help to strengthen the function of the community and promote society inclusion.

       Families with pregnant woman and new born babies.

1. Certificate course of Post-Natal Care Service: According to the arrangements of the course, applicants can visit or call our Centre to obtain more information or register for the course;
